Multiple Positions, Aqua Engineers

OAHU (Schofield Barracks Wastewater Facility)
Operations Superintendent - Responsible for the overall management of the facility; supervisory experience is required. College degree, 10 years experience in wastewater or related industry and State of Hi Grade IV WWTP Operator license preferred.

Collection Systems Superintendent - Must be experienced in wastewater collection system industry including preventive maintenance. Supervisory experience is required.

Collection Systems CDL Truck Driver/ Maintenance Worker - experience in Collection Systems Maintenance preferred; must be a high school graduate with mechanical/electrical aptitude; minimum CDL B license with Tanker Endorsement is required.

Construction Manager – oversees all aspects of construction projects; ensures completion of on schedule and within budget; Engineering degree and knowledge of Federal/State regulations related to wastewater and collection systems is preferred; Microsoft Office Suite and Project required.

Office Clerk – provides administrative/clerical support to facility staff; excellent written/verbal communications skills and Microsoft Office Suite is required.

KAUAI
Laboratory Assistant (part-time) - conducts various physical, chemical and/or microbiological analyses of wastewater, sludge, sediment and water samples. High school graduate with emphasis in science and two years laboratory experience is required.

KONA
Utility Worker/Operator-in-Training - assists in the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facility in Kona; must be high school graduate with mechanical/electrical aptitude, good communication skills, physically able to climb and lift at least 50 lbs.

LANAI
Assistant WWTP Operator - assists with the operation and maintenance of wastewater treatment facility for Lanai City and Manele Bay Resort; must be high school graduate with mechanical/electrical aptitude, good communication skills, physically able to climb and lift at least 50 lbs.

All positions require Valid Hawaii Driver License and clean traffic abstract.

Manager and Chief Engineer, County of Kaua'i Department of Water

The Department of Water in the County of Kaua'i has an excellent opportunity for a strategic, collaborative leader to become the Manager and Chief Engineer (Manager). The ideal candidate will be a seasoned manager and a highly resourceful leader with strong knowledge of utility capacity planning, long-term facility planning, water quality testing and monitoring. The next Manager will possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and will be expected to develop and maintain solid relationships with community stakeholders, contractors, department staff and the board. He or she shall also have a strong background in financial, public relations and personnel matters.

A degree in civil engineering is preferred and a minimum of five (5) years experience in utility water supply systems, including administration, planning, designing, developing, operating, and managing of such water systems is required. The maximum annual salary is currently $100,313. A comprehensive benefit package including health benefits, retirement, vacation and sick leave is also provided.

GENERAL MANAGER, Guam Waterworks Authority (application form)

The Guam Consolidated Commission on Utilities is soliciting for qualified individuals for the position of General Manager. The General Manager shall have full charge and control of the construction works of the Authority, maintenance and operations, and the administrative and business affairs of the Authority.

The Guam Waterworks Authority is a public corporation governed by the Consolidated Commission on Utilities (CCU). The Consolidated Commission on Utilities is an elected board consisting of five (5) members. The General Manager reports to the CCU.

The Guam Waterworks Authority is comprised of 246 employees.  The company has a yearly gross water consumption of 6.7 billion and gross wastewater flow of 4 billion per year.  The agency services an average of 40,000 water customers, 26,000 wastewater customers and collects yearly $40M in revenues.

The ideal candidate shall possess the following:

  1. Masters degree in Management, Engineering, Finance, or Public Administration, or as an  alternative,  a Bachelor’s degree and registration as a Professional Engineer pursuant to the National Council of  Engineering  Examiners standards in either the Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Branch;

  2. At least ten (10) years of combined senior management experience at drinking water and    wastewater utilities, with experience in both areas;

  3. Proven management and communication skills;

  4. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff;

  5. Experience with planning, design, and construction of major wastewater or drinking water    infrastructure projects; and

  6. Knowledge and experience with:

  7. Drinking water or wastewater engineering,
    - User fee system development,
    - Bond fund,
    - Staff training and development, and
    - Federal drinking water and wastewater requirements.
